National Dissemination Grant
The National Network for District Authorizing (NN4DA) received a federal Charter School Program (CSP) Model Development and Dissemination Grant (2025–2030) to strengthen how innovative charter school models are designed, authorized, and supported nationwide.
Working with 10 state partners, the project will create and share tools, resources, and technical assistance that help both charter operators and authorizers succeed across the full charter lifecycle—from application to renewal and replication.
Key project goals include:
- Improving the success of innovative school models such as CTE, STEM, rural, micro-schools, and Classical/Civic academies.
- Building authorizer capacity to evaluate and support these unique models effectively.
- Developing state-based and national technical assistance systems to ensure long-term sustainability and alignment across states.
The Colorado Association of Charter School Authorizers (CACSA) is one of four Primary State Partners (PSPs)—alongside California, Florida, and Wisconsin. CACSA will:
- Lead one of the six Model Task Forces, focusing on charter models most relevant to Colorado (such as Classical/Civic Education, Alternative Education Campuses, and rural schools).
- Develop and test model-specific and authorizer tools.
- Provide technical assistance to districts and authorizers statewide.
- Contribute to national dissemination by sharing lessons, tools, and resources with other NN4DA states and through NN4DA’s online resource library, conferences, and summits.
Through CACSA’s leadership and collaboration, Colorado’s experience will directly shape national best practices for high-quality authorizing and innovative school model development.
