CACSA/CDE Quarterly Authorizer Meeting: Feb. 28
The quarterly CACSA/CDE Authorizer meeting is Monday, February 28, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, MDT. This meeting is a hybrid in-person and remote meeting. It is held in conjunction with the Colorado League of Charter Schools (CLCS) conference. The CLCS invites all participants to a VIP reception that kicks off the conference that evening. Governance Help Is Available
These have been challenging times for everyone. Some of that stress has shown up in charter school boards, going through some serious drama, and trauma this year. Recently, we have heard from authorizers about a few schools going through severe governance challenges. There are strategies that authorizers can take to appropriately weigh-in when schools are struggling. In addition, the staff at the CLCS have also been very helpful in recent cases, and in some cases have made consultants available to work directly with individual schools. CACSA members have helped, by joining conference calls to talk through challenges with their colleagues. If you oversee a charter school that is in crisis-mode due to leadership and governance problems, please reach out to CACSA.
