News & Updates

The coronavirus emergency challenges all aspects of public education. Issues related to charter schools and charter school authorizing may add further complications, as districts must coordinate with the charter schools they oversee to ensure charters are appropriately integrated into district planning and emergency programs.

CACSA is convening regular video conference calls to bring authorizers to together to discuss common challenges and share strategies for moving forward.

  • CACSA general video conference on issues related to the emergency, Thursdays at 9:00 am.
  • CACSA call on issues related to special education in charter schools during the emergency, Tuesdays at 4:00 pm.

We are also coordinating with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), the Colorado League of Charter Schools (CLCS), and the other partners to avoid swamping our members in boxes and to ensure CACSA members receive the most recent information.

CACSA’s resource library now includes a section devoted to the authorizing issues related to the virus. Please visit the resource library HERE to review available resources.
