DPS Sample Virtual Site Visit Letter to Teachers

DPS has shared a set of materials used for virtual site visits. You can review their letter to the school, the schedule, and the School Quality Framework which they use as the virtual rubric. DPS notes the following about their use of these materials for virtual site visits:
1. It is important to provide context on how the evidence was gathered. DPS reports state whether they did not see something or could not see it based on the teaching format;
2. DPS wants to see student work so requests access to student products from the observed lesson, generally through a follow up interview with the teacher in the days following the site visit. This means visits will likely be spread over several days, rather than contained to a single day.
3. DPS decided to use the standard School Quality Framework rubric with two caveats: a) DPS will state when the team could not collect enough evidence to rate and b) always provide context when sharing evidence from a virtual visit.
